It’s finally here! We have waited for over a year for something even resembling a proper summer and it’s so close I can feel it. No, I can literally feel it, New York City temps hit 90 degrees yesterday. And now it’s time to get you ready with some of my favorite cute summer makeup looks.
If you’re like me, and I believe you are if you’re reading this, your favorite lippies have gotten a bit dusty since they had to take a backseat due to mask requirements. But no more, the lips are the star this season but the eye looks, trust me, are just as fun.
Now, let’s see these cute summer makeup looks you’ll want to rock at brunch this season.
My favorite cute summer makeup looks fall into 3 categories:
Shimmery Green Eyeshadow
Bold Lips – 3 ways
1. Bright Orange Lips
The orange lip is sticking around for another season and once again have your lips looking irresistible. To get this look try Bite Beauty’s Outburst Longwear Lipstain in Orange Fizz and let your lips do the talking.
2. Glossy Lips
Finally glossy lips are back! I gave my lips an extra punch and started out with a pearlescent fuchsia lip color as my base like Bite Beauty’s Crystal Creme Shimmer Lip Crayon in Fuchsia Frosting and topped it with a clear gloss like Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb in Glass Slipper
3. Bold Lips x Cat Eye
Can the cat eye ever be called a trend? It’s such a classic look and when paired with a bold lip you get 2 powerful punches in one.
I used the gel cream liner L’Oréal 24hr infallible lacquer liner in blackest black to carefully create my wing.
2. Graphic Eyeliner
This look is subtle and dramatic at the same time. The hint of orange is just so perfect for this summer. To get this look to pop on my deeper skin tone, I started with a white base to create the graphic designs under my brow tail and above my crease with NYX Eyeshadow Primer in white and then went back over top with a bright orange eyeshadow. But you could also use a bright orange cream eyepot like Danessa Myrick’s waterproof cushion liner in Totally Tangerine.
3. Shimmery Green Shadow
I know I said the lips will be out front this summer after being in mask mandate hibernation for over a year but I couldn’t help myself with this look – it’s a head turner. To get this look I used a pencil brush to sculpt out this dramatic green wing and then followed up with a black cat eye to really make it pop. I used the shimmery green shade Mali from my Juvia’s Place Masquerade Palette.
I love this look so much, don’t be surprised when you see me rocking it with other colors of the rainbow this season. It’s a fave for me.
And there you have it, 3 cute summer makeup looks for you to play with! I’ve showed you 3 ways to rock a bold lip in matte, glossy and paired with a cat eye. Gave you subtle drama with orange graphic liner if you’re looking for something a bit more subdued or you can go full drama with a sweep of shimmery green shadow.
Which look will you be rocking this summer?
